Vinicius De Moraes

Born on October 19, 1913, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Vinícius de Moraes, affectionately known as "O Poetinha" (The Little Poet), emerged as a pivotal figure in contemporary Brazilian music. A prolific poet, he crafted lyrics for numerous songs that have become timeless classics. In addition to his work as a lyricist, Vinícius was a composer of Bossa nova, a playwright, and a diplomat. His contributions as an interpreter of his own music resulted in several significant albums, solidifying his legacy in the world of music. Vinícius passed away on July 9, 1980, in his hometown of Rio de Janeiro.
