The Beatles' Second Album

SKU: 146623211943
Category: Rock

The Beatles - The Beatles' Second Album - 1964 - VG+ - Ultrasonic Clean - Very collectible west coast pressing, as identified by a - œ² in the run-outs; Black rainbow label without "subsidiary" print. This first label variation shows no timings for tracks B1 and B2.

Matrix / Runout (Runout Side A): T-1-2080-G-10 2 - œ²
Matrix / Runout (Runout Side B): T-2-2080-F-9' 1 - œ²

It's very extremely close to EX, but grading low for two reasons, side 1 has like 7 medium hairlines, side 2 has more short ones, but very light; this is still a very collectable record and still a solid player, but there's sticker residue on the Side 2, looks like remnants of an old return mail label? The record has been cleaned using ultrasonic technology and is in strong VG+/VG+ condition. The cover is very crisp, also only a VG+ because of age and has some small writing on the cover (see photo)! Need more photos? Let us know!

The Beatles

The Beatles

Originating from Liverpool, England, in 1960, the Beatles emerged as a groundbreaking British band that transformed from rock and pop roots into influential pioneers of musical innovation. The group established its definitive lineup in 1962, comprising John Lennon (vocals, rhythm guitar, harmonica, keyboards, percussion), Paul McCartney (vocals, bass, guitar, keyboards, percussion), George Harrison (lead guitar, vocals, keyboards), and Ringo Starr (drums, vocals, percussion) after securing a recording contract with EMI. This followed a short-lived period that included Stuart Sutcliffe (bass, 1960-61) and Pete Best (drums, 1960-62).

Initially celebrated for their Merseybeat sound, the Beatles quickly began to explore new musical dimensions, delving into psychedelia and introducing inventive production techniques that utilized tape loops and various effects. Throughout their career, they left an enduring legacy with 12 studio albums.

The band's significant influence on rock and roll was formally recognized in 1988 when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a group. By 2015, each member had also earned individual accolades for their achievements as solo artists within the Hall of Fame.

SRO Records Record Grading Guide:

SEALED/Mint:

Vinyl: Assumed mint, unverified until opened.

Sleeve: Visible through shrink wrap, graded as above.

NM (Near Mint):

Vinyl: Nearly flawless, with possible minor scuffs or hairlines only visible under strong light.
Sleeve: Appears new, as if freshly printed.

EX (Excellent):

Vinyl: Bright, with minor surface wear and hairlines, not affecting play.

Sleeve: May have faint creases or abrasions, but artwork is clean.

VG+ (Very Good Plus):

Vinyl: Obvious wear, scuffs and hairlines, plays with some noise but no major sound issues.

Sleeve: Worn with creases, noticeable wear, acid deterioration, corner dings, chipping, and possible seam wear.

Here's the typical SRO Records line in the sand. Anything below VG+, unless it's rare, unusual or just awesome, we're NOT going to sell online, much less go through the hassle of an ultrasonic cleaning, we're going to put it in one of many $10 Record boxes that we sell at Record Conventions and events. Some will wind up in the $1 Box, just to get it back out into the world for someone to enjoy or make a planter out of.

VG (Very Good):

Vinyl: Dull appearance with many hairlines and scuffs, somehow plays with persistent noise but no skips.

Sleeve: Worn with possible seam splits and moderate ring wear.

G+ (Good Plus):

Vinyl: Numerous marks and scratches, plays with significant noise but music usually overpowers flaws.

Sleeve: Rough appearance with possible seam splits and water damage.

G (Good):

Vinyl: Copious unforgettable marks, probably a skip or jump.

Sleeve: Heavy ring wear and damage, likely large seam splits or water damage.

F (Fair):

Vinyl: It's round with nearly infinite damage, skipper gonna skip

Sleeve: It's basically what's left of the sleeve for the album
