Spinners - Pick Of The Litter - 1975 Funk / Soul - EX - Ultrasonic Clean - The sleeve is very worn, hard to see in the photo, but the lower right corner is giving way, as well, the lower flap seam is barely hinging on. Disk is an easy EX, superb.  - The record has been cleaned using ultrasonic technology and is in strong EX/EX condition. The cover is crisp, only a VG+ because of age!

Spinners

The Spinners are an American soul group that originated from the Detroit, MI area and became associated with the iconic Motown sound in the 1960s, later transitioning to the Philadelphia soul style in the 1970s. The original lineup consisted of Bobby Smith, George Dixon, Billy Henderson, Henry Fambrough, and Pervis Jackson.

Formed in the early 1960s, the group began their recording career with several singles released under Harvey Fuqua's Detroit-based [l116154] Records. They subsequently signed with [l1723] Records, where they produced a series of singles between 1964 and 1971. This period culminated in the release of the Stevie Wonder-penned track "," which came out on [l1723]'s [l60063] subsidiary.

In the early 1970s, after being dropped by Motown, the Spinners signed with [l681], leading to another series of singles. Among these, "" achieved significant success, reaching #2 on the Billboard charts in 1976, along with "," which peaked at #4 in 1973. Both tracks were produced by Thom Bell. The group's most notable hit arrived in 1980 with "," which also climbed to #2 on the Billboard charts, produced and arranged by Michael Zager.

For their releases in the UK, the group was known as "The Detroit Spinners" and "The Motown Spinners" to distinguish themselves from the British folk group The Spinners.

SRO Records Record Grading Guide:

SEALED/Mint:

Vinyl: Assumed mint, unverified until opened.

Sleeve: Visible through shrink wrap, graded as above.

NM (Near Mint):

Vinyl: Nearly flawless, with possible minor scuffs or hairlines only visible under strong light.
Sleeve: Appears new, as if freshly printed.

EX (Excellent):

Vinyl: Bright, with minor surface wear and hairlines, not affecting play.

Sleeve: May have faint creases or abrasions, but artwork is clean.

VG+ (Very Good Plus):

Vinyl: Obvious wear, scuffs and hairlines, plays with some noise but no major sound issues.

Sleeve: Worn with creases, noticeable wear, acid deterioration, corner dings, chipping, and possible seam wear.

Here's the typical SRO Records line in the sand. Anything below VG+, unless it's rare, unusual or just awesome, we're NOT going to sell online, much less go through the hassle of an ultrasonic cleaning, we're going to put it in one of many $10 Record boxes that we sell at Record Conventions and events. Some will wind up in the $1 Box, just to get it back out into the world for someone to enjoy or make a planter out of.

VG (Very Good):

Vinyl: Dull appearance with many hairlines and scuffs, somehow plays with persistent noise but no skips.

Sleeve: Worn with possible seam splits and moderate ring wear.

G+ (Good Plus):

Vinyl: Numerous marks and scratches, plays with significant noise but music usually overpowers flaws.

Sleeve: Rough appearance with possible seam splits and water damage.

G (Good):

Vinyl: Copious unforgettable marks, probably a skip or jump.

Sleeve: Heavy ring wear and damage, likely large seam splits or water damage.

F (Fair):

Vinyl: It's round with nearly infinite damage, skipper gonna skip

Sleeve: It's basically what's left of the sleeve for the album

"I am happy I bought this album to add to my growing collection of Blue Cheer albums. I am sure I will play it at some point in time to get a good dose of early heavy metal. This band sure belongs in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with many other snubs who have not gotten in as of yet."
