Nektar

Nektar is a band formed by British musicians who settled in the Heidelberg area of Southern Germany during the early to mid-1970s. They achieved significant success with both their studio albums and live performances, which were renowned for their innovative blend of sound and visual experience, highlighted by a light show that featured psychedelic motifs. This artistic synergy was further enhanced by the work of Helmut Wenske, whose designs adorned three of their most acclaimed album covers, leaving a lasting impression on those who attended their early concerts or listened to their records.

The band reformed in 2000 and continued until the passing of lead guitarist Roye Albrighton in 2016. In 2019, several of the original members returned, leading to the creation of a new album that includes unreleased tracks and material dating back to 1978. This album also showcases Helmut Wenske's distinctive artwork.

As of August 2019, the current lineup consists of: - Derek "Mo" Moore - Bass (1969-present) [Founding member] - Ron Howden - Drums & vocals (1969-present) [Founding member] - Mick Brockett - Liquid lights (1969-1979, 2019-present) [Founding member] - Randy Dembo - Bass and 12-String Guitar (2004-2005, 2019-present) - Ryche Chlanda - Guitars (1978, 2019-present) - Kendall Scott - Keyboard (2019-present)

Former members include: - Roye Albrighton - Lead vocals & guitars (1969-2016, deceased) - Allan "Taff" Freeman - Keyboards & vocals (1969-2004) - Tom Hughes - Hammond organ, keyboards & vocals (2004-2006) - Dave Nelson - Guitars & vocals (1977-1978) - Peter Pichl - Bass & vocals (2007-2012) - Dave Prater - Drums & vocals (1980-1982) - Carmine Rojas - Bass & vocals (1980-1982, 2006) - Billy Sherwood - Producer & multiple instruments (2012-2013) - Klaus Henatsch - Keyboards (2007-2018) - Lux Vibratus - Bass (2011-2013)

SRO Records Record Grading Guide:

SEALED/Mint:

Vinyl: Assumed mint, unverified until opened.

Sleeve: Visible through shrink wrap, graded as above.

NM (Near Mint):

Vinyl: Nearly flawless, with possible minor scuffs or hairlines only visible under strong light.
Sleeve: Appears new, as if freshly printed.

EX (Excellent):

Vinyl: Bright, with minor surface wear and hairlines, not affecting play.

Sleeve: May have faint creases or abrasions, but artwork is clean.

VG+ (Very Good Plus):

Vinyl: Obvious wear, scuffs and hairlines, plays with some noise but no major sound issues.

Sleeve: Worn with creases, noticeable wear, acid deterioration, corner dings, chipping, and possible seam wear.

Here's the typical SRO Records line in the sand. Anything below VG+, unless it's rare, unusual or just awesome, we're NOT going to sell online, much less go through the hassle of an ultrasonic cleaning, we're going to put it in one of many $10 Record boxes that we sell at Record Conventions and events. Some will wind up in the $1 Box, just to get it back out into the world for someone to enjoy or make a planter out of.

VG (Very Good):

Vinyl: Dull appearance with many hairlines and scuffs, somehow plays with persistent noise but no skips.

Sleeve: Worn with possible seam splits and moderate ring wear.

G+ (Good Plus):

Vinyl: Numerous marks and scratches, plays with significant noise but music usually overpowers flaws.

Sleeve: Rough appearance with possible seam splits and water damage.

G (Good):

Vinyl: Copious unforgettable marks, probably a skip or jump.

Sleeve: Heavy ring wear and damage, likely large seam splits or water damage.

F (Fair):

Vinyl: It's round with nearly infinite damage, skipper gonna skip

Sleeve: It's basically what's left of the sleeve for the album
