Eric Clapton

Eric Clapton, an influential figure in blues-rock music, is celebrated for his work as a guitarist, singer, songwriter, and producer. He was born on March 30, 1945, in Ripley, Surrey, England.

Clapton's early career includes notable tenures with several prominent bands. He was a member of The Yardbirds from October 1963 to March 1965, followed by a stint with John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers from April to June 1965 and again from October 1965 to July 1966. He briefly joined Eric Clapton And The Powerhouse in March 1966 before becoming a founding member of Cream, where he played from July 1966 until May 1968. Clapton was also part of Blind Faith from February 8, 1969, until August 1969, and later formed Derek & The Dominos, active from Spring 1970 to 1971.

His business interests included a holding company that operated from October 20, 1967, until November 6, 2018. Throughout his career, Clapton has received numerous accolades, including eighteen Grammy Awards, four Ivor Novello Awards, and the Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three times in 2000—as a solo artist, as a member of The Yardbirds, and as a member of Cream. Additionally, he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2001. In recognition of his contributions to music, Clapton was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2004.

Clapton is the son of Patricia Molly Clapton, but he was raised by his grandmother, Rose Clapp, after his mother became a parent at the age of sixteen. He had a relationship with Alice from the late 1960s until 1974 and was married to Pattie Boyd from March 27, 1979, in Tucson, Arizona, until their divorce in 1989. In 1984, he began a relationship with Yvonne Kelly, and although both were married to other partners at the time, they had a daughter, Ruth Kelly-Clapton, born in January 1985. Her paternity was kept private until it became public knowledge in 1991. Clapton had a brief affair with Italian model Lorry Dal Santo, resulting in the birth of their son, Conor, who lived from August 21, 1986, until March 20, 1991. He married Melia Clapton (née McEnery) on January 1, 2002, in Ripley, and together they have three daughters: Julie, Ella, and Sophie Clapton.

SRO Records Record Grading Guide:

SEALED/Mint:

Vinyl: Assumed mint, unverified until opened.

Sleeve: Visible through shrink wrap, graded as above.

NM (Near Mint):

Vinyl: Nearly flawless, with possible minor scuffs or hairlines only visible under strong light.
Sleeve: Appears new, as if freshly printed.

EX (Excellent):

Vinyl: Bright, with minor surface wear and hairlines, not affecting play.

Sleeve: May have faint creases or abrasions, but artwork is clean.

VG+ (Very Good Plus):

Vinyl: Obvious wear, scuffs and hairlines, plays with some noise but no major sound issues.

Sleeve: Worn with creases, noticeable wear, acid deterioration, corner dings, chipping, and possible seam wear.

Here's the typical SRO Records line in the sand. Anything below VG+, unless it's rare, unusual or just awesome, we're NOT going to sell online, much less go through the hassle of an ultrasonic cleaning, we're going to put it in one of many $10 Record boxes that we sell at Record Conventions and events. Some will wind up in the $1 Box, just to get it back out into the world for someone to enjoy or make a planter out of.

VG (Very Good):

Vinyl: Dull appearance with many hairlines and scuffs, somehow plays with persistent noise but no skips.

Sleeve: Worn with possible seam splits and moderate ring wear.

G+ (Good Plus):

Vinyl: Numerous marks and scratches, plays with significant noise but music usually overpowers flaws.

Sleeve: Rough appearance with possible seam splits and water damage.

G (Good):

Vinyl: Copious unforgettable marks, probably a skip or jump.

Sleeve: Heavy ring wear and damage, likely large seam splits or water damage.

F (Fair):

Vinyl: It's round with nearly infinite damage, skipper gonna skip

Sleeve: It's basically what's left of the sleeve for the album

This only includes shipping to the International hub here in the United States.
