Daniel Vuletic was born in Zagreb, Croatia, and has resided in Milan, Italy, since 1993. Throughout his career, he has produced and written for a wide array of performers across Italian, Spanish, and English-speaking markets, including notable artists such as Laura Pausini, Nek, Luciano Pavarotti, Adriano Celentano, Mina, James Blunt, Juanes, Gianna Nannini, Gianni Morandi, Malika Ayane, and Marco Carta, among others.
Vuletic's journey to Italy began in 1993 when he left Croatia in pursuit of his childhood idol, the esteemed producer Celso Valli, known for his work with Eros Ramazzotti and Andrea Bocelli, as well as many other talented musicians. After years of living in Milan and performing in European clubs, Vuletic finally met Valli, who was so impressed by five of his songs that he agreed to produce Vuletic on the spot.
In 1998, Vuletic signed a contract with Sony Italy as a singer, and Valli recorded his debut album between Italy and Los Angeles. The album's first single, "Imparando (A Stare Senza Te)," featured Martina Stella, a prominent Italian actress at that time.
During his inaugural concert in Riccione, Italy, Vuletic had an epiphany, realizing he preferred writing songs to performing them. He promptly shared this revelation with Valli, leading them to abandon the album in favor of releasing three singles. After hearing one of his singles on the radio, Laura Pausini met Vuletic, and they began collaborating, resulting in their first album together, "Entre Tu y Mil Mares," released in 2000.
The following year, Vuletic penned "Volveré Junto a Ti" and "Dos Historias Iguales," the top two singles from Pausini's compilation album, "The Best of Laura Pausini," which achieved sales of 7,000,000 copies. "Volveré Junto a Ti" earned Vuletic his first ASCAP award.
In 2002, Vuletic began working with Nek on the album "Las cosas que Defenderé," contributing the single "Hablamos en Pasado" among others. The 2004 album "Escucha" became a commercial success, winning the Grammy Award for "Best Latin Pop Album" and the Latin Grammy for "Best Female Pop Vocal Album" in 2005. Vuletic wrote several tracks for this album, including "Escucha Atento," "Como si No Nos Hubieramos Amado," "Mi perspectiva," "Tu Nombre en Mayusculas," and "Hablame." The song "Como si No Nos Hubieramos Amado" garnered him a second ASCAP award.
In 2006, Vuletic arranged and produced three songs for the album "Yo Canto," which included "Destino Paraiso," "Disparame Dispara," and "Mi Libre Cancion" (a duet with Juanes). This album also won the Latin Grammy for "Best Female Pop Vocal Album."
The 2008 album "Primavera Anticipada" featured Vuletic's contributions through songs such as "Primavera Anticipada" (duet with James Blunt), "Del Modo Mas Sincero," "Un Hecho Obvio," "Mis Beneficios," "Mas que Ayer," "La Impresion," and "Hermana Tierra." In 2009, "Primavera Anticipada" received the Latin Grammy for "Best Female Pop Vocal Album."
During the "Laura Live World Tour" in 2009, Vuletic's compositions "Con la Musica en la Radio," "Menos Mal," and "Ella no Soy" were performed. In the same year, he signed with Sugar Publishing.
In 2011, Vuletic contributed to the album "Inedito," writing, arranging, and producing songs such as "Inedito" (duet with Gianna Nannini), "Cada uno juega su partida," "Te digo adios," and "Como vives tu sin mi."
In November 2015, Vuletic made history in New York City as the first Italian composer to sign a contract with a U.S. publisher, Sony/ATV Music Publishing.
