Vampires Everywhere! is an American metal band originating from Los Angeles, California. The band was established in 2009 by Michael Orlando, known as Michael Vampire. The band's name is inspired by the film "The Lost Boys," with "Vampires Everywhere!" being the title of a comic book featured in the movie that outlines the rules of vampires and their vulnerabilities.

In 2010, the band debuted with an EP, which included the lead single “Immortal Love.” The accompanying music video was directed by Scott Hanson, who had previously collaborated with bands such as A Day to Remember, Carnifex, A Skylit Drive, and Alesana. The single garnered significant airplay on platforms like MTV 2 (Headbangers Ball), Heavy Rotation, and Fuse On-Demand.

Throughout 2010, Vampires Everywhere! toured extensively across the United States and Canada, sharing the stage with acts like Motionless In White, The Color Morale, and others. They also opened for bands including Hollywood Undead and Escape the Fate. Additionally, they performed at SXSW 2010 in Austin, Texas, alongside D.R.U.G.S., VersaEmerge, and Black Veil Brides. The year culminated in the release of their single "Undead Heart" on November 29, 2010.

In 2011, the band launched their debut album, which was released worldwide via Hollywood Waste Records. The album achieved notable success, reaching number 19 on the Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums and number 43 on the Top Independent Albums chart.

The same year saw lineup changes, with Alex Rouge and David Darko departing to form their own band, The Automatic Me. Despite these changes, Vampires Everywhere! continued to perform, participating in the Sunset Strip Music Festival and the "Something Wicked This Way Comes Tour" alongside Wednesday 13, Polkadot Cadaver, and Nightmare Sonata. In December 2011, they announced plans for a new album to be released in 2012.

On April 25, 2012, bassist Philip Kross announced his departure from the band, and Adam Vex subsequently joined as his replacement. The band's second album, "Hellbound & Heartless," was released on June 19, 2012, marking a shift from their earlier post-hardcore style to a heavier industrial metal sound. Following this release, they participated in the summer 2012 Vans Warped Tour and toured in October with Alesana, In Fear and Faith, and Glamour of the Kill.

On November 10, 2013, Michael Vampire announced via Facebook a rebranding of the band. He expressed a desire to embrace a new chapter in his life, introducing "The Killing Lights" as the new band name. He referenced a near-fatal car accident from years prior, explaining that the new name reflects his journey and the evolution of his music career. He indicated plans to enter the studio in 2014 to record a debut album for Century Media Records and announced a UK tour in February to preview the upcoming music. Michael Vampire expressed gratitude to the loyal fans of Vampires Everywhere! for their support throughout the years and shared his excitement for this new phase in his artistic journey.
