Valery, whose full name is Valeria Iris Dose, is a prominent DJ and electronic music producer from Argentina. She has been immersed in the electronic music scene since 1994 and began producing music in 2002. Her preferred genres include Psychedelic Trance, Psy Progressive, Downtempo, Tech House, Chillout, Ambient, and Meditation.
After relocating from Italy to Argentina, Valery was introduced to the stage by Terrestrial Anonymous, a collective of DJs formed by Piers Ciappara (England), Polper, Murray, and Gerardo from Buenos Aires. These artists are recognized as pioneers of Psychedelic Trance in Argentina. Valery made her debut using vinyl records from Tip Records at several festivals, including the iconic “Ultimate Rave” held at Parque Sarmiento in Buenos Aires in 1997 and 1998, organized by Urban Groove.
By 2000, Valery had begun exploring techno music, performing with tech house vinyl at numerous underground events. She shared the stage with notable DJs and producers such as Juan Pryor, Symon, Luis Nieva, Gustavo Lopez, Magoo, Bad Boy Orange, Rayo Club, InDaMix, Carlos Shaw, Sector 7G, Leonel Castillo, and Diego Roka. These performances took place at prominent nightclubs, including El Dorado, K2, Oval, Cubic, La Cigale, Big One, and La Morocha, all of which significantly impacted the dance scene in Buenos Aires.
In 2000, she also became involved in Earthdance (Global Celebration for Peace) in Buenos Aires, organized by Eduardo Krumpholz and Bioma. The following year, she contributed as a vocalist to Paulo Agostinelli's electronic project, which was released by Agostinelli and Tweety González, encompassing various electronic styles such as Big Beat, Drum & Bass, Electroambient, and Trip Hop.
Valery launched her career as an electronic music producer in 2002, creating original tracks and remixes. As a self-taught artist, she honed her skills through reading and attending music clinics led by industry professionals. She received support from several artists during her artistic development, including Osky Mancuso (Planetary), Polper (Terrestrial Anonymous), Miguel Lara (Ionic), Alejo Gonzales (Cosmos Vibration), Dj Jowe (Moon Flower, Patagonia), and Sergio Morales (Artistic Producer).
In 2003, she released her original composition "Trance Tango" on the compilation “TANGO?” from EMI’s MUSICAS ALTERNATIVAS label, featuring the acclaimed musician Fernando Samalea. This CD received promotion throughout Portugal and northern Europe.
In 2005, Valery established the group Ayun, an independent project blending electronic rhythms with ethnic sounds and lyrics in native languages, featuring contributions from Graciela Mendoza, an ethnic folklorist from Buenos Aires. Their debut album, “Impulso Místico,” premiered at the “Earthdance” festival in Santiago, Chile. That same year, she created a techno trance rendition of “Cielos Azules” by Herman Vinson for the Argentine film “Un Buda,” directed by Diego Rafecas, with musical direction by the well-known artist Pedro Aznar. Additionally, she participated in the Dancing Buddhas Out Door events, organized by DJ Moksha, performing alongside national and international artists from the psychedelic trance scene in Buenos Aires.
In 2007, Valery released “Toda la Tierra,” an independent album featuring chillout and downtempo music, which included a remix of “DanceHall” by the singer “Princesa.”
By 2008, she made her debut as a producer with the project “Nimue,” releasing the album “Hijas de Odin” (Daughters of Odin), a fusion of ethnic sounds and Goa, which was promoted by Neurotrance Records and DJ Erofex in Bolivia in 2009.
The following year, Buddha Mantra Records (Portugal) compiled her works in the album “Luz del Sur,” which included three of her tracks: “Domo del agua,” “Cropcircle,” and “Ciudades de Luz,” alongside other prominent Argentine producers in the Psytrance genre.
In 2010, she was featured in the compilation “Little Pieces of Infinity” by Dark Fox, released by Hispanodelicius Records, which included her track “The Lady of the Lake” from the Nimue project. This album was designed for a calming and relaxing psychedelic experience, showcasing the talents of artists like Erofex, NüTao, and Majesty Valkyria. That year also saw the release of “Healing Beats,” a compilation that included her track “Nave Tipi” under the Hispanodelicius Records label, featuring carefully curated contributions from artists across Chile, Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico.
In 2013, Nimue's album “Hechizos” was released digitally by Goa Records, featuring a progressive trance sound at 140 bpm. This work blended various genres while maintaining its core essence, offering a rich tapestry of melodies and dance floor-ready environments.
Valery is currently preparing to present her latest album “Crononauta” from her live project “Nimue,” which features seven tracks that traverse chillout to downtempo styles, incorporating progressive trance and ethnic atmospheres. This album is set to be released soon by Skypeople Music.
