With over 25 years of experience, Mark has remained dedicated to the underground music scene, evolving from the early days of house music to the present. His journey began as a child, immersed in records and Radio One, where he started crafting mixtapes using old tape machines and a record player. This early exposure led him to develop basic editing skills. Transitioning from tape decks to belt-driven turntables—one of which had pitch control—and an old Realistic mixing desk from Radio Shack, Mark spent countless hours mastering the art of mixing. His commitment to learning "the mix" and programming became second nature.
The introduction of the Technics 1210 mk11s marked a significant turning point in his development. After extensive practice and regular DJing at parties in and around Glasgow, Mark set on a path toward his aspiration of a life centered around records. His smooth technical style and discerning track selection soon caught the attention of The Sub Club, the iconic Glasgow nightclub, where he became one of the resident DJs. This position allowed him to explore and refine his musical style, earning recognition as one of the country’s top young DJs.
At The Sub Club, Mark played key roles in various nights, including UK Gold (alongside Martin Collins), Red Cell (with Richard Grey, Twitch, and Domenic Cappello), Aqua Planet, and Science (with Funk d´Void). Throughout his career, particularly during his tenure at The Sub Club and The Nitsa Club, Mark shared the stage with prominent residents such as Harri, Domenic Cappello, Twitch, and Oscar, and collaborated with nearly every notable DJ over the past 25 years.
His extensive list of collaborations includes legends like Derrick May, Juan Atkins, Blake Baxter, Mr. Fingers, Stacey Pullen, Claude Young, Joshua, Gene Farris, DJ Rush, Cajmere, Gemini, DJ Sneak, Dan Curtin, Richie Hawtin, Darren Emerson, Slam, Mark Broom, Funk d´Void, Ralph Lawson, Kenny Hawkes, DJ Q, Joey Beltram, Baby Ford, Ian Pooley, Evil Eddie Richards, Darren Price, Faze Action, Kevin Saunderson, Schatrax, James Holroyd, Surgeon, The Advent, Carl Craig, Chez Damier, Johnny Fiasco, DJ Deep, Green Velvet, Steve Bug, Tom Middleton, Derrick Carter, Stevie Donaldson, Mr. C, Larry Heard, and many more, including a memorable night with DJ Duke at a house party in his Glasgow flat.
During his time at The Sub Club, alongside Domenic Cappello, Richard Grey, and Twitch, Mark honed his unique style, seamlessly blending deep house and Detroit techno with stripped-down, dubby Maurizio tracks. This distinctive approach allowed him to fill the booth at The Sub Club, focusing on the music he loved without relying on popular hits. A highlight of his Glasgow experience was DJing at the renowned Subculture Saturday nights with Harri and Domenic, often cited as the best club night in the world.
In 1997, Mark relocated to Barcelona, where he quickly became a resident DJ at the Nitsa Club in the Apollo, alongside Ian Pooley and Fra. He played in the DJ booth with some of the world's leading DJs before embarking on his own underground projects, Galaxy and Indeep, also in Barcelona. During this period, he co-founded Indeep Wax Record Shop with Josh Brent (of Schatrax) and DJ Tres Manos.
Mark has graced nearly every major nightclub in Spain, from Rachdingue in the north to Industria Copera in the south, and has performed at numerous festivals, including Benicassim and Doctor Music. He has held residencies at two of the most significant clubs in their respective countries—the Sub Club and The Nitsa Club—while consistently advancing the underground agenda in his performances.
Currently, Mark is a resident DJ at Indeep, Science, Black Out, and Horizontal, where he delves into the deeper realms of electronic music, showcasing his Detroit-influenced techno, deep house, and drum & bass. His primary philosophy revolves around moving the crowd by incorporating unique tracks from the depths of his collection, providing audiences with fresh experiences beyond the typical DJ top 10.
