Pail is the musical endeavor of Manix Salazar, who hails from Vitoria-Gasteiz, where he resides and operates Aktiv-Akt Studios, a recording facility dedicated to his music creation. His sound is characterized as Electro Industrial, encompassing a range of influences including Electro-industrial, Techno, EBM, breakbeat, and ambient music.

In 1998, Manix established his own record label, CAUSTIC RECORDS, in response to a scarcity of record label options for this genre in Spain. Since its inception, CAUSTIC RECORDS has become a prominent Spanish label focused on publishing and promoting a diverse array of styles, including Electro-Industrial, EBM, Dark Body, Dark Folk, Dark Ambient, and Neoclassical music.

Pail's debut album, "Epidemic," was released through CAUSTIC RECORDS and later licensed in January 1999 to Dion Fortune/ECR in Germany. This album gained traction in Europe, the USA, and Canada, achieving notable success outside of Spain. As a result, Pail received attention from leading magazines within the European Industrial scene, with further recognition in countries such as Russia, Ukraine, and Romania, where the track "Take It Out" secured the third position on Radio Sky's hit list in Constanta. Pail has also contributed to international compilations from labels like Dependent, Dion Fortune, Flatline, and Dystopian, sharing the spotlight with influential bands such as Front Line Assembly, Numb, Individual Totem, Wumpscut, Click Click, Suicide Commando, Haujobb, and Dive.

Pail's second album, "Bei Finsterdem Tagesanbruch," features four new tracks released as a limited edition 12-inch vinyl, blending breakbeat, electro, industrial, and techno rhythms. Although intended as a precursor to a full second album, the project faced delays due to studio renovations, leaving additional songs unreleased on a master recording.

Following the completion of studio renovations at Aktiv-Akt Studios, Pail began developing the album "Towards Nowhere," which was released in January 2005 by Caustic Records. This album consists of twelve new tracks and is presented in a deluxe digipack with a 20-page booklet. "Towards Nowhere" received a positive reception from both the public and critics, leading to its licensing and distribution in the GAS region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) by the well-regarded label BLOODLINE, and in the USA, Canada, and Japan by Negative Gain Productions. The American edition featured new artwork by Scott Graig, known for his work with various artists including Wumpscut and Kiew. This release positioned Pail in compilations from BLC (USA) and Alfa Matrix (Belgium) as well as features in publications like Orkus and Sonic Seducer. With this album, Pail entered the "Bullets" section of the Deutsche Alternative Charts (DAC), maintaining a presence there for several weeks.

The fourth album, "Faith in the Void," was released in May 2011 through Caustic Records. This album similarly saw Pail re-enter the "Bullets" section of the DAC and achieve a position in the German Electronics Web Chart (GEWC), reaching number 9 in June. The critical reception was favorable, with the album recognized in various webzines and magazines as one of the year's best works.

Currently, Pail is engaged in the creation of his fifth album.
