Pablo Martín Caminero

Pablo Martín, a Spanish double bass player born in Vitoria in 1974, has made significant contributions to the music scene. He began his musical journey at the age of seventeen, studying contrabass at the Bilbao and Vitoria Conservatoires while also self-teaching the electric bass and exploring various musical genres.

In 1994, Martín moved to Austria to further his studies at the University of Music and Dramatic Arts in Vienna, where he was mentored by Josef Niederhammer and Herbert Mayr, ultimately graduating in 1999. His experience includes playing with prestigious ensembles such as the JONDE (Spanish National Youth Orchestra) and the EGO (Basque Country Youth Orchestra), as well as performing with the Ciudad de Granada orchestra, Berlin's RIAS Jugendorchester, and Vienna's Jenesse Orchester, among others. His accolades include the 1991 Ibiza Special Press Award for Young Artists and first prize at the 1998 Torneo Internazionale di Musica in Rome.

Martín's versatility allows him to collaborate across various musical styles, particularly in jazz and flamenco, highlighted by his participation in the 'Jazzpaña II' tour. He has showcased his talents at notable festivals in Vitoria, Stockholm, Vienna, and Miami. Currently, he is a member of pianist Chano Domínguez's sextet and guitarist Gerardo Núñez's trio, contributing to the albums ‘Oye cómo viene’ and ‘Un ramito de locura,’ respectively. He also collaborates with musicians such as Marc Miralta, Perico Sambeat, and Antonio Serrano.

In 2005, he established his own record label, BOST Espacio Creativo.
