Herbert Napiersky

Herbert Napiersky, sometimes referred to as Napierski, was born on November 26, 1904, and passed away in 1987. He is best known for composing one of the notable anthems of the Hitler Youth, titled "Es dröhnet der Marsch der Kolonne."

In 1938, Napiersky began his tenure as a teacher at the Helene-Lange-Gymnasium in Düsseldorf. He continued in this role even after the school's de-Nazification and subsequent renaming to Geschwister-Scholl-Gymnasium. Napiersky taught music, German, and English until his retirement in 1978. At the school's concerts, he was responsible for introducing the students who performed. In addition to his teaching career, he was an amateur photographer and was active in the school's photography lab.
