Nikki Loy, a determined artist, has turned away from heartache and an unfulfilling life to embark on a remarkable musical journey across the UK and Europe in her self-built campervan, offering her a new perspective each evening. Her songwriting reflects a blend of pain and joy, infused with a sense of hope and inspiration that encourages listeners to pursue their dreams and seize their happiness.
Following her recent support role for Shane Filan on his successful 10-date UK tour, Nikki Loy is set to embark on a 32-date UK tour supporting Sam Bailey. In 2017, she made her mark performing at renowned venues such as Ronnie Scott’s bar in London.
Originally from Oxford, Nikki's current nomadic lifestyle makes it difficult to pin her down to one location. Renowned for her powerful vocals, her voice resonates deeply with audiences, characterized by a maturity that, combined with the emotional depth of her lyrics, inspires fans to chase their own aspirations. Nikki's extensive musical background includes experiences in busking, performing at festivals, attending Hillsong music college in Australia, writing a column for The Oxford Times, and completing the challenge of writing 52 songs in 52 weeks.
Throughout her career, she has shared the stage with a variety of artists, including jazz musician Janette Mason, Americana singer Lauren Pritchard, Decca artist Krystina Myles, and Irish pop-folk singer Wallis Bird, among others.
With a growing discography that includes two albums, two EPs, and a live album, Nikki is recognized as an established musician with a devoted following across the UK. Early in her career, she drew inspiration from blues and soul, but her musical palette expanded to include country and Americana. Her passion for electronica and pop has also influenced her sound, resulting in a unique blend of genres.
In addition to her musical accomplishments, Nikki has co-written for a well-known Saatchi & Saatchi advertising campaign. The award-winning music video for her single "Can I Keep You" was selected by the BBC to be featured in their Music Video Festival, showcased on large screens in town centers throughout the UK, and it reached the finals of the UK Songwriting Contest.
Describing herself, Nikki states:
"I sing, I write songs, and for a long time, I have been a painter and illustrator. At times, I am a blogger and designer. I am always a daughter, sister, lover, and friend. One label is not enough.
I enjoy freshly brewed coffee, peanut butter on toast, peppermint tea, and mango sorbet. I prefer a mostly plant-based diet and feel out of sorts without an avocado every day. I love sunshine, but I also appreciate the rain and the smell of a forest after a downpour. I cherish moments spent at home with my partner, as well as performing on stage with fellow musicians. I value solitude and the opportunity to meet new people. I love dressing up, being inspired, and feeling creative while also staying grounded. While I sometimes enjoy collaboration, I often prefer to work alone, creating songs, taking photographs, and painting to document life and inspire others.
I sing because it is an essential part of who I am, a natural expression of my life.
I also support fellow dreamers, local independent businesses, and those who nurture the planet. We all share the desire to make the world a better place! I value personal growth and lifelong learning. I believe in our shared existence in this vast universe and that consciousness is vital for creating a brighter future for humanity. There is abundance for all, if we can unite in our efforts.
Like Ron Dicianni, I trust that God (Universal Consciousness) will take my works and, like stars, send them into the universe for those who might need them.
Love,
Nikki Loy"
