For comprehensive details, please visit the official website: giveitalisten.com. The album is not available on popular platforms such as Amazon or Spotify; it can only be purchased through eBay and the official website. This release is exclusive, presented as a limited 100 boxed set in CD format, and is not available for streaming.
The recording of Listen2Daze took place in various locations including Kirkland, Duvall, Seattle, and Thrasher's Corner in Washington State. The album tells the true story of Curt, who has faced challenges from Controllers through brain implants that were injected into his head in March 1999.
The music incorporates actual voicemail messages and field recordings collected from 1982 to 2018, with a narrative that serves as a warning about the impending dangers of a Technocracy and the yet-unknown Torment Technology that may arise from inter-dimensional Beings/Controllers, who are depicted as draining energies from the third dimension.
The album showcases cutting-edge music production and adventurous musicianship, which together bring Curt's proclamations to life and create an emotionally engaging experience for listeners. It presents a unique musical journey that addresses themes of coincidence, unspoken psychic connections, friendship during difficult times, and the resilience of the human spirit, even in seemingly hopeless situations.
Each of the 39 CD chapters plays a significant role in the narrative, with their slipcases forming a larger puzzle. The album emphasizes live instrumentation, featuring musicians performing in real-time. The experience is designed to invigorate and captivate listeners, with the depth of the narratives gaining clarity as the chapters unfold. The story culminates in a revelation that invites listener participation.
The CD slipcases fit together to form a complete puzzle, consisting of 4 slipcases tall and 10 wide, revealing numerous visual pairings. The actual CDs sit atop the cover puzzle, altering the image and "opening the portal" to provide additional clues for solving the story. There is also a Memory/Concentration Game included, where listeners can find 20 matching pairs of images on the back covers.
This release is limited to 100 individually signed and numbered box sets. It is a genuinely unique experience in recorded music history, with a total playtime of 176,237 seconds. The album is not available for streaming or download; it exists solely in the intended CD format. Notably, the end of each CD chapter often loops back to the beginning to provide story clues, a feature not possible with streaming services.
In addition, a 10-song 12" vinyl sampler titled Listen2Daze Insight includes a hidden 11th track exclusive to the vinyl. There is also a limited 3-CD sampler available.
