Paulo Leite began his career as a DJ in 1982, captivating audiences in some of the most prominent clubs in Estoril and Cascais, including Palm Beach, Boogie Woogie, KWA, and Coconuts. He later became a resident DJ in several renowned Lisbon establishments, such as Plateau, Gartejo, Trumps, Alcantara-Mar, and Queens.
During this period, Leite collaborated with X-Club, a leading agency for DJs and national events, which opened doors for him to perform in top clubs across the country, both on the mainland and in the islands. Notable venues included Kremlin, Império Romano, Frágil, News, Kadoc, Locomia, Café do Teatro, Twins, República & Companhia, Pacha, Wolf, Kaxaça, Buddha Bar (Lisbon), Day After, Spy Club, Hacienda Klub, and Roxy, among many others.
Leite shared the stage with prominent figures in the national dance music scene, such as DJ Vibe, DJ Luis Leite, DJ Jiggy, XL-Garcia, Mário Roque (also known as X-Man), A.Paul, Frank Maurel, Carlos Manaça, Pete That Zouk, Peter G, Miss Sheila, and Kult of Krameria. He also collaborated with international DJs including Carl Cox, Green Velvet, Roger Sanchez, DJ Skull, Eric Powell, Les Ryder, DJ Sneak, Mr.C, Oscar Mulero, Eric Morillo, Eric Morel, Trevor Rocklife, Mr. Mike, DJ Disciple, Andy Weatherall, Twitch, Tony Sapiano, JL Magoya, Mark Broom, John Creamer, Sandy Rivera, David Morales, Phats and Small, Lexicon Avenue, and DJ Chus.
In terms of national events, Leite participated in significant occasions such as X-Club presents The Ultimate Cream Tour 96 in Figueira da Foz, the New Year’s Eve Party 96 in Alcobaça, X-Club's 2nd Anniversary at Neptunus 97 in Algarve, Expo 98 in Lisbon, Exponor 98 in Porto, the Prestige – Classic House Session at Alcantara-Mar, Lusidance (the annual Portuguese festival of dance music), Paradise Dream 2001 in Figueira da Foz, and Remember Alcântara-Mar Sessions at Club Vintage Lx, along with performances at Gossip, Club Santa Eulália, and Spies Beach Party.
On the international front, he performed at venues such as Flyhouse Club in Johannesburg during the Beat the Christmas Rush 99 event in South Africa, Joislava in Corunha with the Leite Night Sessions project, Radiola Club in Valladolid, Marula Café in Madrid, and at Famhouse Connection and Lookal Ocean Club in Geneva, as well as in Luanda, Angola.
Leite is known for his involvement in the Leite Night Sessions project (Luis Leite b2b Paulo Leite), which resulted in a CD of the same name and featured in his first musical production project, Lisbon Connection. This project gained significant success, leading to their DJ sets being broadcast on one of Lisbon's top radio stations, MIX FM, and performances in leading national clubs.
In September 2002, he launched a new musical production, the Shuffle Progression project, in collaboration with Fernando Campos. The following year, Leite, Campos, and Daveed formed T.T.S. (The Three Stoogez), which released a 12-inch record titled The Force (Can you feel...) in 2006 through Tribo Recordings / Stéreo Productions. Currently, he is involved in new projects such as South Coast, Pure & Clear, and Lisbon House Lovers.
In addition to his various projects, Leite has participated in remix contests, including Beatport's Danny Tenaglia feat. Celeda – Music is the answer (D.G.X. & DJ Paulo Leite Deadline mix), Dance Fuel / Kaos's DJ Vibe feat. Ithaka – You (Lilas & DJ Paulo Leite Remix), and Defected Records' South Coast – Come With Me (DJ Paulo Leite & D.G.X. Rework). He has released numerous tracks on labels such as Stereo Productions, Fatal Music, Afroboogie Recordings, Mix Store Records, System Recordings, Azucar Records, South American House, Loop 128 Records, Kaos Records, Cool Beat Records, Goldbrain Records, Fire Beat Records, Filthy Groovin Records, Tronic B7 Records, Minar Records, Tanira Recordings, Karmic Power Records, and Irma DanceFloor (Irma Records), among others.
