Hard rock band from Spain, formed in early 2006, emerged when two music enthusiasts, Luis Miguel Díaz Valdés (originally from Avilés) and Luis Alberto Herrero Sariego, crossed paths at a record store named Tipo, which Herrero owned. Sharing a passion for music, they envisioned creating a group influenced by the iconic hard rock bands of the '70s and '80s.
Their journey began with acoustic performances, which garnered positive feedback from both audiences and critics, prompting them to expand the lineup for electric shows. They welcomed Ricardo Herrero Sariego, Luis Alberto's brother and a musician from the Mierense scene, known for his work with bands like “The Burning Lust” and "Fago Cowboys.” Following the addition of a bassist and drummer, the band experienced several lineup changes over the years, with Carlos Barrio Gómez (Fago Cowboys, A-66) currently on drums and Francisco Javier Mateos Fernandez (Tierra De Nadie) on bass.
In late 2008, the band entered a competition with their song “We're Livin' In A Bar” to represent Spain at the Eurovision festival in 2009, which took place in Russia. Selected from over 1,000 entries through public online voting, they advanced to a casting with 30 participants and ultimately made it to the televised gala on TVE1, alongside nine other contestants, hosted by Alaska.
In October 2010, after evaluating various producers, they began recording their debut album, “Real Leather,” at Bunker Studios in Posada de Llanera, under the production of Alberto Rionda (Avalanch). By the end of December, they completed the mastering of the album, which showcased a personal rock sound infused with metal influences and a glam touch, coining their style as “Leather Rock,” reminiscent of bands like Guns N' Roses, Mötley Crüe, Kiss, and The Cult.
From mid-2011 to mid-2013, the band toured Spain, performing in cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, León, and Asturias, receiving favorable reviews from notable rock publications including Popular 1, Ruta 66, Rock Nacional, and Mondosonoro, along with various specialized websites. In mid-2013, they concluded the “Real Leather Tour” and retreated to rehearsal sessions to work on their follow-up album. In July 2014, they began recording at ACME Studio in Miranda (Asturias) with producer Miguel Herrero, aiming for a classic and vintage sound influenced by 70s hard rock while retaining their 80s essence, adding elements from the 90s. The resulting album featured numerous collaborations from established Asturian musicians, including guitarist and singer Tonino Bustamante, singer Ramon Lage, saxophonist Juan Flores, and multi-instrumentalist Miguel Herrero, who became a sixth member of the band during the recording process.
The cover art was designed by Mierense illustrator “Smoker Lopez,” known for his acclaimed works and a nominee for the 2015 AMAS awards, while the mastering was completed at Green Desert Mastering by Kike Sanchís. The album was released at the end of 2014 and early 2015, achieving positive reviews and drawing large audiences, though subsequent lineup changes led to the postponement of some tour dates.
Guitarist Leather Dangerous Dick left to pursue other musical endeavors and was succeeded by Leather Dirty Duke, while the drummer role was filled by Leather Sixty Nine. The band made their television debut in the Asturian contest Festiamas2015, reaching the final in September of that year. The album was subsequently recognized by both national and international media as one of the best of 2015, and the group spent 2015 and 2016 performing in Asturias, Galicia, and Madrid.
In late 2016, the band marked their tenth anniversary by beginning the composition of a commemorative EP titled "Decade Of Decadence," featuring both previously unreleased songs and new material, recorded by the old and current lineups, reflecting their history. The EP was released in February 2017, receiving excellent reviews and appearing on year-end highlight lists, with the tour extending until late 2018. They then focused on composing their next studio album, scheduled for release in 2020.
In September 2020, they signed with Madrid's The Fish Factory, releasing "Born In The Seventies," recorded at Tutu Studios in Avilés and produced by Sergio Tutu. The album was later reissued as a double album, "Born & Reborn In The Seventies," in April 2022. In May 2023, they published their biography, which included a CD featuring their best songs.
In October 2023, the band announced that due to the impending paternity of guitarist Leather Dee Dee Allin (known as Dirty Duke), he would temporarily step back from live performances, to be replaced by Mr. Chema Bretón (Rock & Rockets, Beast Inside), now referred to as Leather Breton. This addition marks another chapter in the band’s ongoing history, alongside current drummer Chema Vales (Leather Skelter). The band is currently working on a new album set for release in late 2025.
