Josh Heinrichs is an American reggae singer and songwriter, recognized for his role as the former lead vocalist of the internationally celebrated indie reggae band, Jah Roots. He is also the owner and operator of GanJah Records, an indie reggae label. After departing from Jah Roots in 2008, Heinrichs embarked on a solo career, releasing a series of albums.
Junior Marvin, a member of Bob Marley & The Wailers, has praised Heinrichs, stating, "Josh is one of those guys who comes along and fills his music with such an inspiration and with such energy that it translates so easily and positively to anyone hearing it. He is a rare talent in both his ability to craft a song with a certain timeless quality to it, and then, man, his voice, well, I mean, damn, the kid can sing as good as anyone out there; a bright future – that one."
Heinrichs debuted his solo career with the release of his first EP, "Things Change," which came out in July 2009 under GanJah Records and features six tracks.
In late 2009, he announced that he had recorded an album of reggae classics and covers titled "Favorites" in collaboration with his friend Cas Haley. This album was scheduled for release in 2010 through Jim Slaton's Big Karma Records; however, it was placed on indefinite hold following Slaton's untimely death from a heart attack. Some tracks from this project were later included in Heinrichs and Haley's respective albums released in 2010.
In 2010, Heinrichs released his first live solo album, "Live in Hawaii," which was recorded during his performance at The Kulia Roots Fest in Honolulu, Hawaii, with backing from the local reggae band, Gomega.
On September 28, 2010, he launched his first full-length solo studio album, "Josh Heinrichs and Friends," which debuted at #4 on the USA iTunes Best Selling Reggae Albums chart and also made its way onto Amazon's Top 20 Best Selling Reggae Albums. This album featured collaborations with notable reggae artists including Aston Barrett, Hani Totorewa of Katchafire, Caleb Keolanui of The Green, Koko of Inna Vision, and Cas Haley, among others.
Heinrichs' second full-length solo studio album, "Jah Roots," was officially released internationally on May 17, 2011. It debuted as Amazon's #1 hottest selling reggae album and reached #6 on the iTunes (USA) Top 200 Best Selling Reggae Albums chart.
The album "Emergency Spliff," a collaboration with his former bandmate from Jah Roots, SkillinJah, was released on August 16, 2011, and entered the iTunes Top 200 Best Selling Reggae Albums at #16.
Heinrichs' third full-length solo studio album, "Satisfied," was released on October 18, 2011, debuting at #3 on iTunes Top 200 Best Selling Reggae Albums and as Amazon's #2 hottest selling reggae album.

In March 2012, Heinrichs invited Junior Marvin to perform lead guitar for a special one-night-only concert in his hometown of Springfield, Missouri.
In October 2012, he organized his first annual Springfield, MO Reggae Festival, featuring Marlon Asher from Trinidad and Natural Vibrations from Hawaii.
The "Rooftop Session" EP was released on March 26, 2013, quickly rising to #1 on the iTunes Best Selling Reggae Charts and reaching #2 on the Billboard Reggae Charts in its first week.
