Constancia's journey began in 2007, initiated by Mikael Rosengren, the former keyboard player for Scudiero and Token. Mikael had composed a collection of songs that he sought to record, prompting him to reach out to guitarist Janne Stark, known for his work with Overdrive, Grand Design, and Locomotive Breath, among others. Janne was enthusiastic about the music and gradually became more involved, laying the foundation for Constancia. Recognizing the need for a complete band, Janne invited drummer Peter “TrumPeter” Svensson, with whom he had collaborated in Overheat, Locomotive Breath, and Mountain of Power. Mikael brought in Michael Mueller, formerly of Jaded Heart, as the bassist. After auditioning several vocalists, they ultimately chose David Fremberg, known for his roles in Andromeda, Truth, and Time Odyssey. Despite the geographical challenges, with Mueller residing in Germany, the band's debut album, “Lost And Gone,” was released in July 2009 under Frontiers Records.

In 2013, the band began preparing for their second album. With Michael Mueller occupied with other projects, they sought a new bassist and welcomed Linus Abrahamson, also associated with Andromeda. Rather than rushing the creative process, the band dedicated 2013 and much of 2014 to writing, recording, and mixing their new material. The resulting album, “Final Curtain,” was released in 2015 in both a standard version and a limited “Special Edition” of 300 copies, which included three bonus tracks. Unfortunately, this special edition has been counterfeited, with fake copies circulating; the authentic edition features “Made in Australia” printed in the center of the disc.

In 2019, the band commenced work on their third album. As the music neared completion and it was time to record vocals, David Fremberg stepped down due to other commitments. The band then recruited British vocalist Pete Godfrey, known from In Faith and Blood Red Saints, who excelled in writing new lyrics and crafting vocal melodies, transforming “Brave New World” into a fresh album for the band. This album was released by German label Pride & Joy in June 2021, accompanied by a limited edition LP. Shortly after the release, Linus decided to depart from the group.

In 2023, the band swiftly moved forward with new music, as Mikael had composed another set of songs for Janne to develop, with Janne also contributing one song. Once the music was prepared, Pete entered a writing phase, successfully crafting lyrics and melodies, and recording 12 songs in just a month. The new album, titled “IV Evermore,” was released in August 2024. The current lineup of the band now consists of Pete, Mikael, Peter, and Janne, who has taken on the bass duties.
