The Brookes Brothers, a highly regarded production duo in the Drum and Bass genre, have established themselves as a significant presence in the bass music landscape. Renowned for their distinctive beats that blend soul and disco influences, they are considered one of the most accomplished production teams in the field.

Originating from London, U.K., siblings Dan and Phil Brookes embarked on their music production journey fueled by their shared passion for raving and dance music. After recording a series of demos, they submitted some of their tracks to the AIM address of Breakbeat Kaos, a drum and bass label co-owned by Adam F and Fresh. Following a positive reception, they secured their first release, "Someone," with Viper Recordings. Their growing relationship with Fresh enabled them to sign additional material to Breakbeat Kaos, leading to the release of the 12" "Hard Knocks" in 2006. The duo continued to produce a variety of 12" singles, culminating in the 2008 single "Tear You Down," which significantly raised their profile.

The breakthrough hit "Tear You Down" in 2008 showcased a mix of soulful vocals and funky bass, dominating the UK dance chart for two weeks and remaining in the top 20 for 15 weeks. The track garnered attention from BBC Radio 1's Sara Cox, who named it "Record Of the Week," solidifying the duo's status in the upper ranks of Drum and Bass.

Pursuing their signature style of anthemic and soulful drum and bass, the brothers began work on their debut album, which was released in 2011. Their self-titled LP highlighted their unique production talents, featuring standout tracks such as the ethereal "Last Night," the dancefloor favorite "Beautiful" (featuring vocals by Robert Owens), and "Paperchase" (a collaboration with Danny Byrd). The album also introduced a dabble into Dubstep with "In Your Eyes," which became their second track to receive airplay on Radio 1. The support from prominent radio DJs like Pete Tong and Zane Lowe helped broaden their audience.

Maintaining their collaboration with Viper and Breakbeat Kaos, the duo continued to release 12" singles while increasing their DJ performances, including a residency at London's Fabric nightclub. In late 2012, they released the widely acclaimed track "Loveline," which was also playlisted by BBC Radio 1, and signed exclusively to Viper Recordings, the label that launched their career. The brothers began working on their sophomore album, anticipated for release in 2014.

With the track "Carry Me On" (featuring Chrom3 on vocals) being named “Hottest Record In The World” by Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1, along with promising collaborations such as "Get On It" with Danny Byrd from his upcoming album "Golden Ticket," the Brookes Brothers are poised to enter an exciting new chapter in their musical journey.
