Billy Bolero is a Swedish musician, songwriter, A&R executive, and music producer based in Lidingö. He was born on October 31, 1961, in Steneby, Bengtsfors, Dalsland.

In 1987, Bolero established his first company, Billy Bolero Entertainment AB, followed by a second in 1998, Bolero Records AB, with Warner/Chappell Music Scandinavia AB as the publishing partner from the beginning of the latter venture.

Bolero began his music career as a solo artist in the early 1980s and later collaborated with Anna Nederdal to form the group Zzaj. As a producer and songwriter, he has worked with a variety of artists, including Di leva, Staffan Hellstrand, Irma Schultz, Uno Svenningsson, and Zzaj.

In 1984, he launched his first record label, Papa Records (2), under the mentorship of Sonet Music AB. The label was co-founded by Ola Håkansson and Sonet Music AB, who provided him with significant autonomy in its operations. Between 1984 and 1987, the label released debut albums for both Di leva and Staffan Hellstrand.

Following this, Bolero formed the band 1, 2, 3 with Pelle Lidell and Thomas Widestrand, securing a deal with Virgin. He then shifted his focus toward producing and songwriting, founding the publishing house and production company Billy Bolero Entertainment AB, and collaborated on albums with Irma Schultz and Anna Nederdal / Zzaj.

Bolero served as an A&R executive at Sony Music for seven years, during which he partnered with Patrik Sventelius to work with artists such as Bo Kaspers Orkester, Brainpool, Sophie Zelmani, Meja, and De De. He later joined Universal Music in a similar role, contributing to albums by Lars Winnerbäck, Carola (3), and Sverige. Subsequently, he managed Bolero Records in collaboration with WEA, overseeing the release of works by Elin Ruth Sigvardsson, Evolver (4), Marie Lindberg, Uno Svenningsson, Monica Starck, Incka Ullén, Bob Hansson, and Kristoffer Jonzon. He eventually transitioned to a freelance A&R career.

In 2010, Bolero left his freelance position to focus on Little Wonders Recordings and his publishing responsibilities at Ninetone Songs, which is part of Ninetone Records. Ninetone, a rock label managed by producer Patrik Frisk, represents bands such as Corroded, Plan Three, and Itchy Daze, and it released the first two albums of Takida.

Throughout his career, Bolero has been actively engaged in managing music publishing companies. He first collaborated with Warner/Chappell Music Scandinavia AB and later served as a publishing partner with Sony/ATV Music Publishing Scandinavia for five years. The publishing entities associated with him on Discogs include Bolero Publishing, Bolero Recordings & Publishing, and Billy Bolero Publishing. In addition to his music industry roles, he has also taken on responsibilities as a football coach.
