Bloodjinn is an American metalcore band hailing from Greensboro, North Carolina, formed in early August 1999 by brothers Joel Collins (vocals) and Justin Collins (drums).

In September 1999, the band entered the studio to record their debut release, "To Bleed The Demon," which was issued through the indie label Flatline Records.

Following the positive reception of their initial release, Bloodjinn signed with Tribunal Records, a label recognized for launching the debut albums of bands such as Atreyu, From Autumn To Ashes, and He Is Legend. They began work on their first full-length album for Tribunal, titled "Murder Eternal: Seven Short Stories For The Slightly Psychotic." To promote this release, the band embarked on extensive touring, sharing stages with acts like Every Time I Die, Premonitions Of War, and Scarlet, as well as performing at notable festivals including Hellfest and Furnace Fest alongside Converge, Hatebreed, New Found Glory, Underoath, and Killswitch Engage.

In February 2001, Bloodjinn returned to the studio to record two new tracks for a split release titled "Born In Hell, Raised In Jail," which was released on Tribunal Records in August 2001.

Later that same year, Bloodjinn secured a deal with Canadian label Goodfellow Records. They recorded "Leave This World Breathing" in January 2002, a concept album inspired by a short story created by the band. The album explores themes of life, the often careless nature of human existence, and the enduring impact of loved ones who have passed away.

Bloodjinn continued to tour extensively while contemplating the release of their next album. They played select shows with bands such as Between The Buried And Me and Caliban, supported Darkest Hour and Unearth, and co-headlined Friction Fest 5 with Underoath and Most Precious Blood. The band also participated in Gainesville Fest alongside Bury Your Dead, Darkest Hour, and Between The Buried And Me, among others.

In 2007, with new material and a couple of new members, Bloodjinn signed with Pluto Records and released their latest album, "This Machine Runs On Empty," on March 6, 2007. This album received recognition as one of the standout releases of the year. Following its release, the band toured in support of the album with notable acts such as Hatebreed, God Forbid, Shai Hulud, Born Of Osiris, Dead To Fall, Vanna, and KillWhitneyDead.

Bloodjinn planned to release a new album titled "Between Breaths" in the summer of 2009. This album was to be released on Joel Collins' own label, Forsaken Recordings, with artwork by Mike D'Antonio of Killswitch Engage. However, the project faced unspecified delays and complications, leading to a postponement of all plans at that time.
