Blacky B. was born in Naples on July 27, 1974, and music has been a significant part of his life from an early age. Growing up, he spent his childhood playing subbuteo and listening to records on his father's turntable. At the age of 13, he discovered his passion for the sounds emerging from London (acid house) and New York (rap). His parents gifted him two turntables and a mixer, allowing him to familiarize himself with mixing. He later developed an interest in the musical scenes of Chicago and Detroit. Over the years, rap, house, and techno became his guiding influences.

In the spring of 1992, Blacky B. put aside his turntables and mixer to further explore his musical passion. He began listening to a diverse range of music and frequented a local social center in Naples known as OFFICINA99, where he was inspired by acts like 99Posse and Almamegretta. During this time, he connected with individuals from the Neapolitan rap underground scene, including Domasan, 'Nto, and Lucariello. His desire to understand music led him to discover a record store in his neighborhood, where he met Diego (KrAtOS) and Paul. In the summer of 1996, they formed a music project called ΞΥΝΑΨΙΣ, which experimented with a hybrid sound of industrial, electro, and dub, although the project did not gain traction and remained an unfinished tape.

His friendship with Lucariello led him to join VentoDiVino, a project initiated by Lucariello that featured two MCs and Blacky B. VentoDiVino identified as trip-hop, a popular genre at the time, and they performed at a mini-festival dedicated to emerging bands organized by OFFICINA99, sharing the stage with groups like 24Grana.

After a brief partnership with Maurizio resulted in the hip-hop project "Funghi Ladri," where they produced beats using a borrowed synthesizer, Blacky B. and Maurizio parted ways. They later reconnected with KrAtOS, and after many late nights spent working with a Pentium computer and drum machines—often risking disturbances to the peace—they created MassInternalStandHarD. This project focused on minimal 4/4 productions, and they produced a demo titled "Nacth Hart Nacth Napule," a blend of electro and techno. MassInternalStandHarD became one of the first electro-Neapolitan projects featured on Vitaminic, with their sound influenced by artists like Orbital, Underworld, Leftfield, and Scorn.

In subsequent years, Blacky B. decided to pursue music independently as he and KrAtOS took separate paths—KrAtOS working in Greece and Blacky B. in Rome and later Bari. During this time, Blacky B. refined his vision of creating an album that spanned multiple genres including dub, techno, house, and hip-hop. Between 2007 and 2009, he connected with other hip-hop producers online through the forum of DJ Gruff and participated in the project LooperatorItaliani, where he produced loops for freestyle scratching.

Continuing to produce loops independently, he developed a looper called Slurp using 16 loops, ultimately focusing on one loop—loop 8—which led to the creation of the track "Slurp 08." In the summer of 2012, inspired by the music he was encountering, Blacky B. reconnected with KrAtOS to revive the ΞΥΝΑΨΙΣ project, producing two tracks: "Mystical Synthesis" and "RDM (Rural Dub Mantra)." In September 2012, he and Danny Boy launched a new project called OKIDNA, which included the production of "Geish-a."

The summer proved to be highly productive for Blacky B., culminating in the completion of an album he had begun years earlier. In December 2012, he prepared to release the album, dedicated to his late friend D.RaD., the dubmaster of Almamegretta. Titled "Dub Knob," the album was released on January 6, 2013, via Bandcamp, followed by a release on February 17 under Dast Record.
