Born in 1974 in Florence, this accomplished musician graduated from the L. Cherubini Conservatory at the age of 17 under the mentorship of Roberto Fabbriciani. He expanded his musical expertise through composition courses with Salvatore Sciarrino, electronic music studies with Lelio Camilleri, and musical analysis with Michele Ignelzi. His specialization included instruction from prominent figures such as Angelo Persichilli, Glauco Cambursano, Massimo Mercelli, Maxence Larrieu, Michele Marasco, Nikolaus Delius, Reen De Reed, Robert Dick, Stefano Bet, Severino Gazzelloni, and Thies Roorda. He earned the Diploma from the International Academy Incontri col Maestro in Imola, the AMF Diploma, the Original Instruments Diploma from the Academy of Ancient Music in Pistoia, and the Advanced Certificate from the Royal Academy of Music in London. His talent has been recognized through various national and international awards, including victories at the Tortona International, Agimus International, City of Pietra Ligure International Music Competition, and the Rovere d’Oro International Competition.
He embarked on his concert career at a young age, performing a diverse repertoire that spans classical, contemporary, and various other musical genres. His performances, both as a soloist and as part of numerous chamber ensembles, have taken him across Italy, Germany, Spain, Romania, Hungary, Japan, Austria, France, Greece, England, and Azerbaijan. He has collaborated with a wide array of artists, including Massimiliano Damerini, Ivano Battiston, Liliana Poli, Jonathan Faralli, Michele Marasco, Edward Catemario, Joseph Bruno, Riccardo Crocilla, Marco Salvadori, Vittorio Ceccanti, Hidehiko Hinohara, Alberto Bologni, Luca Provenzano, Michele Lomuto, and Edoardo Catemario. His performances have been featured in prestigious festivals and concert series such as the San Carlo in Naples, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Huddersfield Festival, Brescia Teatro Grande, Venice Biennale, Unione Musicale of Turin, Accademia Chigiana, RTSO, Florence Friends of Music, Bologna Comunale, Wiener Saal Salzburg, the Festival Milan Music at La Scala Theatre, the Contemporary Festival of Two Worlds in Spoleto, RAI Radio Tre Concerti del Quirinale, and Flâneries Musicales Reims. He has also collaborated with institutions like the Tempo Reale Centre, the Studi Musicali Ferruccio Busoni Centre, and the Fiesole Music School. In the theater realm, he worked alongside actors such as Sandro Lombardi, director Federico Tiezzi, Giulia Lazzarini, Ottavia Piccolo, Milena Vukotic, Daria Nicolodi, and Michele Placido.
As both a soloist and chamber musician, he has been associated with the Contempoartensemble, with which he recorded several albums and the soundtrack for the film "Il mestiere delle armi" by Ermanno Olmi, which won the Donatello David award, and the Ensemble Elastiko. He has recorded albums for labels including NAXOS, ARTS, TACTUS, PolyGram BMG, Sinfonica Carish, and Materiali Sonori. His collaborations extend to numerous composers such as Harald Genzmer, Sergei Belimov, Jindrich Feld, Ennio Morricone, Maxwell Davies, Fabio Vacchi, Giorgio Gaslini, Luca Lombardi, Paolo Furlani, Carla Magnan, Adriano Guarnieri, Ganesh Del Vescovo, Hans Jurgen Gerung, Giulio Castagnoli, Hidehiko Hinohara, Daniele Lombardi, Rosario Mirigliano, Tonino Tesei, Fabrizio Festa, Andrea Portera, Francesco Giomi, and Valerio Sannicandro, performing numerous premieres, some of which were dedicated to him. Since 2007, he has managed the FABULA UT project, which features ten premieres by Mauro Cardi, Nicola Sani, Daniele Lombardi, Angelo Russo, Cifariello Fabio Ciardi, Carla Magnan, Marcello Panni, Giancarlo Cardini, Guido Baggiani, and Carlo Alessandro Landini, with plans for publication forthcoming.
In addition to his performance career, he has also been involved in teaching, holding positions at the Conservatories of Ferrara, Florence, and Gallarate. Utilizing his informative skills, he designed and hosted a musical program on Controradio from 2003 to 2006 and contributed a column to the monthly publication "Rosso Fiorentino" during the same period. In 2007, he curated live sessions for the "Maggio OFF" season at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in collaboration with Sara Maggi.
He has served on the boards of several associations, including GAMO, Musical Harmonies, Elastiko, and the Italian Ensemble, and has been the artistic director of the Musical Harmonies Season at the University of Elastiko, themed "Music of Yesterday on our Tomorrow." Currently, he teaches at the Accademia Musicale in Florence.
