Antraks is a brutal death metal band hailing from Indonesia, formed on November 2, 2001. The original lineup consisted of Andri Growlsick (vocals), Deady Velo (guitar), Zontas Ravalous (bass), and Chandra Restu (drums). During this early period, the band produced two demos: "Human Malefactor," a five-song tape released in August 2002, and "Lamentation Under Stench Of Mankind," a seven-song CD-R released in February 2003. They also contributed to several underground compilations.
In May 2003, drummer Chandra Restu departed from the band, leading Antraks to recruit Leohardy as his replacement. Shortly thereafter, Zontas Ravalous left, prompting the band to bring in Supry Cobel on bass. However, this arrangement did not last long, and Chandra Restu eventually returned, taking over the bass duties. The lineup was then solidified as follows: Andri Growlsick (vocals), Deady Velo (guitar), Chandra Restu (bass), and Leohardy (drums).
In mid-2004, Antraks released a split album with Cronis through Muntah Records in cassette format. The band followed this with their third demo/CD-R, "The Worst Enemy," released in June 2004, featuring ten tracks. In January 2005, they recorded three new songs, which were combined with previous material to form their first full-length album titled "Nastiest Rotten View." This album was released in late 2005 by local label Murdered Grind Records in cassette format.
By early 2007, Antraks underwent some personnel changes. In May 2008, they released a split album with Septicemia, which included re-mastered versions of earlier demo and album material. This was a collaborative effort through split labels Disembowel Records, Ruptured Records (USA), and Sevared Records (USA) on CD format.
In September 2009, Antraks added Pradhika Aryatama (guitar) and Luky Akbar (bass) to replace Hendrix Parulyan and Filal Fathu. The band unleashed their fourth demo in November 2009 with a different lineup. In March 2010, they re-recorded this demo, which was remixed for their second full-length album, "Spewing Wrath Blood." This album was released in June 2010 through Disembowel Records and Pathologically Explicit Recordings (Spain). Antraks continues to represent the death metal genre with their ongoing contributions.
