Judas Priest - Sin After Sin - 1977 Rock - VG - Ultrasonic Clean - Calling this Promo a VG, but it's really at the bottom of VG+, it plays all the way through, more of a collectors item than a listener.. It's strange hearing all the songs 20% slower than Unleashed in the East, lol.. It's been a while.. In my opinion, they really got some bad advice making those first 3 records, Stained Class stepped up, then of course, "Unleashed In The East" is a complete monster, to this day. Les Binks was lethal.  - The record has been cleaned using ultrasonic technology and is rough but playable, in VG condition. The cover is crisp, only a VG+ because of age and/or tag residue or writing!

Judas Priest

Judas Priest

Judas Priest is a British heavy metal band that emerged prior to the ‘New Wave of British Heavy Metal’ movement.

Founded in Birmingham, England, in 1969, the band was initially composed of guitarist John Perry—who passed away shortly thereafter, leading to the addition of Ernie Chataway—bassist Bruno Stapenhill, drummer John Partridge, and singer Al Atkins. The band's name was inspired by Bob Dylan's song "The Ballad of Frankie Lee and Judas Priest." In 1970, guitarist Kenneth "K. K." Downing and bassist Ian Hill joined the lineup, replacing Chataway and Stapenhill. Drummers John Ellis and Chris Campbell subsequently replaced Partridge. By 1973, Rob Halford and drummer John Hinch had entered the fold, taking over from Atkins and Campbell, respectively. A compilation released in 2019 features a track from the band's final performance with Atkins and Campbell, along with three songs from Halford and Hinch's debut. In 1974, Glenn Tipton was added as a second guitarist.

The classic lineup of Halford, Downing, Tipton, and Hill remained intact from 1974 to 1990. Throughout its early years, the band experienced a variety of drummers, including Hinch, Alan Moore, Simon Phillips, and Les Binks, until Dave Holland, formerly of Trapeze, joined in 1980 and stayed with the group until 1988. In early 1990, Scott Travis, from Racer X, became the band's drummer. That same year, the group faced legal action regarding the attempted suicide of two young boys in Reno, allegedly influenced by subliminal messages in their album "Stained Class." The case was ultimately dismissed.

In 1993, Halford departed to pursue a solo career, and Tim "Ripper" Owens, a singer from an Ohio tribute band, was brought in, recording four albums (two studio and two live) with the band. The original lineup was restored in 2003 when Halford returned following a reconnection during the production of "Metalogy," a four-CD retrospective. K.K. Downing left the band in 2009, with Richie Faulkner stepping in as his replacement. This lineup produced two additional studio albums before Tipton had to retire due to health issues in 2018. During the Firepower tour, Andy Sneap filled in for Tipton, leaving Hill and Halford as the only remaining members from the band's early days.

SRO Records Record Grading Guide:

SEALED/Mint:

Vinyl: Assumed mint, unverified until opened.

Sleeve: Visible through shrink wrap, graded as above.

NM (Near Mint):

Vinyl: Nearly flawless, with possible minor scuffs or hairlines only visible under strong light.
Sleeve: Appears new, as if freshly printed.

EX (Excellent):

Vinyl: Bright, with minor surface wear and hairlines, not affecting play.

Sleeve: May have faint creases or abrasions, but artwork is clean.

VG+ (Very Good Plus):

Vinyl: Obvious wear, scuffs and hairlines, plays with some noise but no major sound issues.

Sleeve: Worn with creases, noticeable wear, acid deterioration, corner dings, chipping, and possible seam wear.

Here's the typical SRO Records line in the sand. Anything below VG+, unless it's rare, unusual or just awesome, we're NOT going to sell online, much less go through the hassle of an ultrasonic cleaning, we're going to put it in one of many $10 Record boxes that we sell at Record Conventions and events. Some will wind up in the $1 Box, just to get it back out into the world for someone to enjoy or make a planter out of.

VG (Very Good):

Vinyl: Dull appearance with many hairlines and scuffs, somehow plays with persistent noise but no skips.

Sleeve: Worn with possible seam splits and moderate ring wear.

G+ (Good Plus):

Vinyl: Numerous marks and scratches, plays with significant noise but music usually overpowers flaws.

Sleeve: Rough appearance with possible seam splits and water damage.

G (Good):

Vinyl: Copious unforgettable marks, probably a skip or jump.

Sleeve: Heavy ring wear and damage, likely large seam splits or water damage.

F (Fair):

Vinyl: It's round with nearly infinite damage, skipper gonna skip

Sleeve: It's basically what's left of the sleeve for the album
