June Christy
American jazz and big band singer, born on November 20, 1925, in Springfield, Illinois, USA, and passed away on June 21, 1990, in Sherman Oaks, California, USA. She was celebrated for her silky smooth vocals and joined Stan Kenton's orchestra around 1945, succeeding Anita O'Day. During her career, she achieved eight charting hits in the U.S. between 1945 and 1947, including the notable #2 hit "Tampico" and the #6 hit "It's Been a Long, Long Time" in 1945, as well as "Shoo Fly Pie (And Apple Pan Dowdy)," which reached #6 in 1946. Seven of her eight charting songs secured a place in the top 16. From 1953 to 1961, Christy recorded over 10 LPs and EPs, along with numerous 45s, collaborating with arranger and conductor Kenton, with whom she had previously worked. She was married to reed player Bob Cooper from 1946 until her death in 1990.

June Christy - The Cool School - Capitol ST1398 1960 JAZZ EX The record has been cleaned using ultrasonic technology and is in strong EX/EX condition - has some hairlines and a few small scuffs, but still very clean and bright. The cover is very nice and crisp, but has tape on the spine, a sales sticker on the front (they didn't use shrinkwrap back then) and some marker on the back, so only a VG, but it really looks a lot better than a VG grade connotates - some heat would likely eventually take the front sticker off, but it won't be me! :D
- Record was initially cleaned manually, then ultrasonically cleaned with iSonic Ultrasonic Cleaning prior to grading

- Records are packaged with a poly outer sleeve, the LP is placed in a fresh white inner sleeve directly after cleaning, (we include the accompanying sleeve, we send you both), separate from the cover to protect the seams during shipment, and of course, shipped within thick cardboard insert pads in a thick cardboard record mailer.

SRO Records Record Grading Guide:
SEALED/Mint:
Vinyl: Assumed mint, unverified until opened.
Sleeve: Visible through shrink wrap, graded as above.
NM (Near Mint):
Vinyl: Nearly flawless, with possible minor scuffs or hairlines only visible under strong light.
Sleeve: Appears new, as if freshly printed.
EX (Excellent):
Vinyl: Bright, with minor surface wear and hairlines, not affecting play.
Sleeve: May have faint creases or abrasions, but artwork is clean.
VG+ (Very Good Plus):
Vinyl: Obvious wear, scuffs and hairlines, plays with some noise but no major sound issues.
Sleeve: Worn with creases, noticeable wear, acid deterioration, corner dings, chipping, and possible seam wear.
Here's the typical SRO Records line in the sand. Anything below VG+, unless it's rare, unusual or just awesome, we're NOT going to sell online, much less go through the hassle of an ultrasonic cleaning, we're going to put it in one of many $10 Record boxes that we sell at Record Conventions and events. Some will wind up in the $1 Box, just to get it back out into the world for someone to enjoy or make a planter out of.
VG (Very Good):
Vinyl: Dull appearance with many hairlines and scuffs, plays with persistent noise but no skips.
Sleeve: Worn with possible seam splits and moderate ring wear.
VG- (Very Good Minus):
Vinyl: Numerous marks and scratches, plays with significant noise but music usually overpowers flaws.
Sleeve: Rough appearance with possible seam splits and water damage.
G+ (Good Plus):
Vinyl: Many marks, somehow plays without skipping despite significant noise.
Sleeve: Heavy ring wear and damage, possible large seam splits.
G (Good):
Vinyl: Copious marks, probably has a skip or jump but no guarantees.
Sleeve: Heavy ring wear and damage, likely large seam splits.
F (Fair):
Vinyl: It's round with nearly infinite damage, skipper gonna skip
Sleeve: It's basically what's left of the sleeve for the album
